Testimonials

Our relationship with Keowee Collies started 16, almost 17 years ago. We were wanting to get a Collie for our young sons. They seemed like the perfect family pet, but finding a reputable Collie breeder near us was difficult. In our search, we were fortunate to meet Nancy Reid with Keowee Collies. She met with us and let us come and play with her dogs. She started to educate us on the Collie breed before puppies even arrived.  That first Collie from Keowee was such a special family member for us. We kept in touch with Mrs. Reid and even took our dog back for visits. She was always available for us to ask questions when something came up since we were new to owning Collies. That relationship continued over the next 14 years. When our sweet boy crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we knew we wanted another Keowee puppy. By this time, Laura Prichard, Mrs. Reid’s daughter, had joined her mom in breeding and showing Collies at Keowee Collies. We were a part of the exciting process of waiting for puppies right along with them, kept informed all along the way and were able to visit the puppies as soon as visitors were allowed to form a bond with our soon-to-be new family member. We knew that the pregnancy and delivery went well. We were informed of the puppy vet visits and how they were progressing. Keowee breeds responsibly by breeding dogs who have been tested and come from champion show bloodlines to ensure the continuation of healthy lines. They also do not “overbreed” by having multiple litters at once. They focus on one well-bred litter at a time and consider the parentage carefully. We have now had three Keowee Collies. There is something special about the temperament of their dogs. They consider temperament as well as conformation in breeding. They test all puppies and provide results to the new owners. I know that I am getting a well-bred healthy dog with an excellent temperament in a Keowee Collie. Once you own a Keowee Collie, you become part of the Keowee family!
